Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

🧾 About the Kits

Q1: What is a DIY digital party kit?
A themed, downloadable set of printables and instructions that guide you through a story-based scavenger hunt. The kit includes games, puzzles, crafts, and decorations you build to create a fully immersive experience.

Q2: What’s included in each party kit?
Every kit includes:

  • A digital invitation
  • Story script and scavenger hunt itinerary
  • Printable puzzles and clue materials
  • Decor props, signs, and favor box templates
  • Instructions for crafting or assembling each item

Q3: What’s not included?
Physical materials like cardboard, scissors, tape, or craft supplies are not included. You’ll receive digital files (PDFs, PNGs) to print and use in creating your own props and decorations.

Q4: Do you provide the scavenger hunt maps?
Because each scavenger hunt is customized to your space—whether it’s your home, a school, or a camp—standard kits do not include pre-made maps. However, most include editable or visual tools to help you design your own using your layout.

Q5: What ages are these kits best for?
Kits are designed for kids ages 5–10. Younger kids may need a bit more guidance with puzzles, while older kids can take on more of the crafting or clue-solving.

Q6: How many kids can participate?
These kits are made for group fun—perfect for birthdays, classrooms, or camps. You can scale up by printing extra copies and adjusting the flow based on your group size.

✂️ Crafting & Setup

Q7: Do I have to craft everything myself?
For parties, parents typically prep ahead—especially cutting cardboard with tools like a box cutter or X-Acto knife. For camps or schools, crafting can become part of the experience: kids help paint, assemble, and decorate pre-cut props.

Q8: Are the crafts safe for kids?
Yes! Many of the crafts involve painting, gluing, or decorating—great for kids. But cutting cardboard and certain prop builds should always be done by an adult.

Q9: How long does it take to set up a kit?
Give yourself 1–3 weeks to gather supplies and prep props, depending on your personal crafting speed. Some are quick and fun to make; others, like piñatas or large builds (cardboard houses, boats, etc), may take more time and planning.

Q10: Can I do these parties without all the bells and whistles?
Absolutely! Go big with full props or keep it simple with just the games and clues. Whether you’re making one centerpiece or the whole world, the magic is in the experience—not how much you craft.

Q11: How do I make the other decorations affordable?
You don’t need to spend a fortune to throw an amazing party. All it takes is your creativity and some basic supplies. Check out my blog for budget-friendly ideas and decorating hacks.

🎈 Running the Party

Q12: How do I lead the scavenger hunt as the adult?
The kit includes a scripted guide and easy-to-follow instructions. Adults take on fun roles—like “Agent,” “Guide,” or even the “Villain”—to help move the story along without the need for acting or memorization.

Q13: How many adults do I need to supervise?
We recommend about 1 adult per 4 kids to help guide activities, reset games, and keep the adventure on track. Some kits include character roles for 2–3 adults, who can also help supervise as part of the story.

Q14: How long does each party last?
Most kits run 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on how many activities you include. You can stretch or shorten it based on your schedule and group size.

Q15: Can I use this indoors or outdoors?
Yes! These kits are flexible. Active games work great outside, but everything can be adapted for large indoor spaces like living rooms, school gyms, or garages.

Q16: How many kids are needed for the scavenger hunts?
The kits are flexible! You can host small or large groups. For bigger groups (like at camps or classrooms), split kids into teams and duplicate key activities so everyone can participate at the same time.

🏫 For Schools & Camps

Q17: Can I use this in a classroom or camp?
Definitely! These kits work great for multi-day camp sessions, themed classroom weeks, or school events. Teachers often use classrooms as themed “zones,” with a grand finale in the gym or playground.

Q18: Can kids do the crafting during camp?
Yes — in fact, we encourage it! While adults should pre-cut cardboard or prep any sharp or complex builds, kids can paint, assemble, and decorate the props as part of the adventure.

Q19: Do I need one kit per group or child?
Nope! One kit download covers your entire event. Print as many copies of signs, puzzles, or clues as you need.

Q16: What format are the files?
