✨ Their Wonderland
In the Great Realm Quest party, kids don’t just play the game—they become part of it.
Split into teams of brave crafters, players journey through pixelated lands to forage, battle, and build on this epic inspired by Minecraft scavenger hunt. Along the way, they’ll use real-world scavenger items, crafting tables, and teamwork to unlock powerful gear and complete their quest.
🌾 Search the Overworld – With map in hand, teams race to find sugarcane, unlocking the first recipe: PAPER. Once crafted, the first clue appears!
🏹 Craft Your Tools – Gathering sticks and string from the Forest and Field, players return to the crafting board to create a BOW—and discover the next secret box!
🔥 Battle in the Nether – With bow in hand, it’s time to face off against pixel monsters! Kids take turns battling the Creeper and Wither to earn their next clue.
🏘️ Rebuild the Village – Scattered block boxes await in the Village. Teams work together to restore the town, unlocking the next phase of their adventure.
💎 Mine for Treasure – Journey to the Badlands and Nether to collect gold ingots and Netherite scraps. Craft them together to form a powerful Netherite Ingot!
🔨 Forge the Ultimate Weapon – Kids uncover diamond ores across the land, smash them open, and use their gems with a stick to craft the mighty Diamond Sword.
🗡️ Upgrade Your Gear – Flip the crafting board to the Upgrade Gear Table. Combine the Diamond Sword with Netherite Ingot to reveal the final treasure: the Netherite Sword—and the last clue.
🌀 Enter the Final Dimension – Step through the glowing portal to confront the Enderdragon piñata in an epic battle. Once defeated, the final recipe is revealed…
🎂 Craft the Cake – Using ingredients from across their journey (egg, wheat, milk, and sugar), kids craft the last item on the table and celebrate their victorious quest!

Extra Ideas for an inspired by DIY Minecraft Party (Layouts Not Included in Kit):
🎣 Craft a Fishing Rod – Attach string and a magnet to a paper rod and use it to “reel in” magnet-backed scavenger items from water zones, wells, or hidden spots.
🔥 Craft a Torch – Paper torch templates and orange tissue “flames” bring light to dark realms—perfect for scavenger hunts or dramatic entrances.
These optional builds give creative players a way to shape the world their way—and bring home props they crafted themselves.
💞 Shared Magic
In this DIY Minecraft inspired quest, you’re not just the host—you’re the quest-giver, the builder, the dragon master.
You’ll kick things off with a scroll in hand, rallying your brave teams and revealing their maps. As they run through the yard or house—hunting for pixel relics, unlocking crafted items, and facing monster challenges—you’ll sneak behind the scenes, swapping out boxes, hiding clues, and setting up the next phase of the story.
You’ll cheer as they launch arrows at pixel Creepers, rebuild a cardboard village with giggles and teamwork, and raise their swords in triumph when the Netherite upgrade is revealed. And when they gather to craft their cake from the treasures they’ve uncovered? That’s when the magic settles in.
Because the real victory isn’t just defeating the Enderdragon—it’s the memory they’ll carry of you right there with them: laughing, guiding, and celebrating every pixel-powered step of the way.

❓ The Great Realm Quest FAQs
🧒 What age is this best for?
The Great Realm Quest is designed for adventurers aged 7–12. Younger kids can join in with some adult help, and older kids will enjoy the puzzle-solving and team challenges too!
⏳ How long does the party take?
The full adventure typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. If you include the optional Creative Crafting Corner, plan for up to 2.5 hours of fun.
✏️ Can I edit the clues?
Yes! Many of the printable clues and invitations come as editable PDFs and PSD files, so you can personalize names, wording, and gameplay to suit your party.
✂️ Do I need a Cricut?
Nope! Everything can be cut by hand. But if you do have a Cricut or other cutting machine, you’ll love the layered PNGs and scoring-friendly files included to streamline the process.
📦 Are physical items included?
This kit is a digital download only. You’ll need to gather your own materials—such as cardboard for crafting boxes and piñata, string for scavenger hunt items, faux eggs, plastic diamonds or swords, poster board, and optional sticker paper. In-depth details on each of the items included in the DIY Minecraft inspired kit can be found here.
🧑🤝🧑 How many adult participants are required?
We recommend at least one adult per team to help guide gameplay and manage clue flow. The original setup includes 3 teams, but the game can be adjusted to fit your group size and number of helpers.
🛠️ Adapt the Party: Age, Group Size & Camp Options
Whether you’re hosting a backyard birthday, a classroom quest, or a week-long summer camp, The Great Realm Quest can be tailored to fit your crew, space, and timeframe. Here’s how to adjust it for your unique inspired by Minecraft party needs:
🧒 Adapting for Younger Kids (Ages 5–6)
Want to include little crafters in the realm? Try these simple inspired by Minecraft birthday party ideas and tweaks to keep it magical and manageable:
- Simplify the scavenger hunt: Place items in more visible or contained areas and reduce the number of clues needed before each craft.
- Focus on the builds: Emphasize hands-on DIY Minecraft inspired crafting like decorating swords, building blocks, or making torches rather than clue-solving.
- Skip the complex battles: Instead of trying to use the bow and arrow, have the kids toss bean bags at the boxes to try and knock them down instead.
- Pair with older helpers: Let older siblings or adults guide each team to keep everyone engaged and included.
👥 Adapting for Different Group Sizes
The kit is originally designed for three teams of 4–5 kids each (15 total), but it can easily be scaled up or down:
- For smaller groups (1–2 teams):
- Have everyone play as one united team, or rotate roles (some forage while others guard the village or organize the crafting table).
- Combine clues from multiple teams into a shared map to reduce prep.
- For larger groups (4+ teams):
- Create 4–6 smaller teams by printing multiple sets of maps and clue cards. Add an extra crafting board to use simultaneously.
- Stagger scavenger hunts or rotate teams through “realms” like stations (Overworld, Forest, Village, etc.).
- Assign more adults or teen helpers to lead each team or act as “Quest Guides.”
